The Polymer Center is research unit of Faculty of Technology. It is focused on basic, applied and industrial research. Its primary research directions are chemical reactions and physical processes which enable tailoring of selected properties of polymeric systems in the course of their preparation and manufacturing. The more concrete areas of research are: rheology of polymer melts and suspensions, electrorheology, unstable polymer flow, thermodynamics of polymeric systems, physical ageing, highly-filled polymeric systems, percolation phenomena, filler intercalation, origin and development of polymer structures, biodegradable polymers, phase interactions and interface phenomena, processing behaviour of polymers, demonstrations of smart behaviour. The research results will be utilized particularly in the plastics and rubber, shoemaking, textile and automotive industries, building, health care, and agriculture. In the pedagogic field attention is concentrated onto PhD’s studies. |
